How do we do it?

High quality beans

It all starts with quality green coffee. We source outstanding specialty grade coffee from around the world. We don't compromise on the quality of beans that we put in the roaster.

Roast to order

Fresh roasted coffee is the best coffee. We never roast weeks ahead. We only roast a coffee when we need it to fulfill an order. You can taste the difference freshness makes in the cup.

Attention to detail

We are meticulous in our roasting process. We pride ourselves on the consistency of our roasted coffees. Small-batch craft roasting is our specialty.

The truth is in the cup!

Once you try our coffee, you will experience new dimensions of coffee that you did not know were possible. We believe outstanding coffee should be available at an affordable price.

September Coffee of the Month:
Colombia Cauca Popayan

Our September coffee of the month is produced by seven small family-owned farms in the municipality of Popayán in the department of Cauca, Colombia. We roast this coffee to a medium-dark color to smooth out the acidity and develop a chocolatey flavor profile. This coffee has a medium-heavy body and the flavor shifts quickly, making it one of the more complex and interesting cups we've offered this year.

The cup starts with a soft citrus acidity. Notes of tangerine peel give a light citrus bitterness that quickly fades into warm, malty chocolate. In the middle, roasty notes of toasted walnut join the chocolate, adding depth and a toasty richness. In the finish, rich dark chocolate and hints of dark fruit linger long and slightly dry into the next sip. As the cup cools, the citrus notes brighten, adding a lively dimension that runs through the entire cup.

Our Signature Roast - Max's Blend

Max's Blend is our signature roast. Designed to be bold, smokey, and complex, this is by far our most popular coffee and has been a staple of the Bay Area for over 30 years. Max's is on the heavy side of body with very little acidity. The cup starts with an immediate punch of smoke. As the smoke fades, dark chocolate notes appear with some dried fruit sweetness and notes of vanilla cream. The finish is very long, bold, and smokey with notes of peaty scotch.

McLaughlin Reserve: Guatemala Organic Joyabaj Honey

We are excited to introduce the newest addition to our McLaughlin Reserve line, a juicy and candy sweet honey process coffee from the Joyabaj Wet Mill in Guatemala. This special release has a medium-light body and a bright balance of acidity and sweetness, and it's a coffee we're proud to add to our Reserve lineup.

The cup starts with a tart stone fruit brightness, leading with notes of yellow nectarine that set a juicy, fruit-forward tone from the first sip. In the middle, sweet and slightly acidic notes of lemon hard candy add a light citrus brightness that carries the fruit forward. In the finish, the fruit sweetness turns tropical with notes of pineapple whip — smooth, bright, and creamy — lingering long on the palate.

This coffee is a limited release and will only be available through mid-September, so be sure to grab it while it lasts.
