Our Decaf Natural is our most popular decaf at our roastery. It is rich with a nice body and balanced through the cup. It has a chocolately, cocoa powder sweetness with spicy notes of black pepper. The finish is mild and sweet with notes of pine nut adding to the chocolate flavors. Decaf Natural is so flavorful, you will hardly believe it is a decaf!

Decaffeination Method: Natural Process (Ethyl Acetate)

Story: Our Decaf Natural is decaffeinated using Ethyl Acetate (EA). In this method the green beans are steamed or soaked to expand the beans for caffeine extraction. The expanded beans are then soaked in EA, which bonds with the caffeine molecules and breaks them away from the bean. The decaffeinated coffee is then removed from the EA solvent and rinsed thoroughly. EA is a naturally occurring organic compound found in fruits and vegetables that is synthesized for coffee decaffeination.
