NARSAI'S BLEND
Narsai's Blend is rich and bold with a velvety body. It has a wonderful complexity highlighted by cocoa and spicy black pepper flavors balanced with molasses and a subtle tobacco in the finish.
Roast Color: Dark
Cupping Notes: Cocoa, Black Pepper, Tobacco
Story: Chef Narsai David had a major role in creating this blend back in the late 80's. The result was a complex blend of coffees from three entirely different regions of the world. The unique flavors of each coffee come through making this blend delightful.
The coffee is fine but I wouldn't call it a dark roast. Maybe a medium dark roast. But I prefer the dark roasts (e.g., Mocha Java, Sumatra, Max's Blend). If you like second wave(?) dark roast, this is probably not for you.
This is my very favorite coffee of all time. The flavor is deep delicious and not at all bitter, unfortunately its killing my espresso machine, a bit oily. So use it for drip
I've been sampling all of the dark roasts to see if any match up to Red Sea Blend, and Narsai's blend is the closest so far- not in terms of tasting like RSB, but in it's richness and intensity. I'm getting this one again!
My favorite coffee. Rich, strong, never bitter. I try others but always return to this one
I agree with kirk barth. Have been drinking this coffee for several years, nothing compares. Rich, dark, never bitter. if used in an expresso machine degrease REALLY frequently. It's an oily bean
it all started on Vine Street in Berkeley and ends for now here with Narsai's Blend, our palate for rich deep dark coffee with enough muscle to get us to our late afternoon cup, aromas of dark chocolate truffles, suffused with a velvety mouthfeel midpalate, with a satisfying clean finish, no aftertaste...
try it for one week. You will want to forget any other coffee you've even had.
